Finally got this illustration done. Being ill for two weeks caused a big slump. Anyway, I have FINALLY gotten around to the animal pages of my book! This is one of the first sketches I ever did for this book project. I'm pleased with the way he turned out after such a long time. But now I have to take ANOTHER break to storyboard an animated short in my evenings for a pitch. If only we didn't have to spend eight hours of the good part of the day working for rent and food...then we could just sit around and draw all day.

Today I rode to the dog park to lay in the sun to draw dogs and read Batgirl comics.
Unfortunately for the past two weeks I have had a virus that sent me into the hospital. So I have not been able to continue any of my art projects due to being bed bound and then because I wasnt able to exercise, my old back pain came back. So to make my back better, I cant sit on the computer over the weekend. So lame! I should be ALL better by Monday and then I can get back to exercise and artwork!

I'm determined to keep this personal book project going. Here is another page. I am finally finished with the humans in the intro, everything after this will be animals for a while...so excited. Although I have a feeling some freelance and project pitch work I have to do before March might stall this book for a month or so.

I love this music video for Sia's Elastic Heart and I have been itching to do a scribble. My favourite part is when Shia LaBeouf randomly climbs the cage and just hangs...the dancer, Maddie, is just so engaging and a brilliant dancer. I love her expressions. Such a character.

I made some game graphics for a school brain training app for Officeworks called Growing Minds. I did this at Millipede (my new job). Download it for Apple or Android and you can check out my work. The Dodgeball game was my favourite to work on.
(Logo not by me, just the pencils)
"Growing Minds provides a fun and healthy collection of brain games for students of all ages from prep to year 12. Each game is based on classroom curriculum and focuses on improving attributes of the brain, including memory, attention, speed, flexibility and mathematics by presenting simple math equations, literacy questions, and problem-solving puzzles."

The end of 2014 turned out to be a very busy one and I am officially wrapping up 2014 today.
After returning from Peru I began a big search for a job (after finishing working on The Day My Butt Went Psycho) and nothing much came back from the 30 or so applications and enquiries I sent out. Thankfully I found a full time position as a designer at Millipede in Melbourne, a game app studio. I also had some freelance work doing some turnarounds for a toy line and I picked up a gig helping out a sports agency design some mascots for a football club, which will continue in 2015.
Surprisingly had some interest from Nickelodeon Jnr as a possible future designer and got my name on the books at Penguin Melbourne. Im hoping to get some freelance work for either of them sometime in the future. Call me anytime, guys!
So last night I did the final bit of freelance for this year (finished up at 4am this morning) and today is my last shift at Millipede for the year.
In 2015 I will continue to work on my book, which I have been really enjoying and I will be hoping back onto my Cartoon Network pilot project and reworking it for other funding avenues.
I wish all the best to everyone and hope all my fellow friends, animators and illustrators a prosperous 2015 and a Merry Christmas!

I have finished the illustration for the reward level of my fundraiser for Indiana's Cataract Surgery Bill and on going medical costs. If you would like to donate or get yourself an illustration, please click here.
My mum said Indiana is really happy and doing well. She is still in her cone but has full vision. The vet is very pleased with her progress.
Her ongoing medication and regular vet visits are adding up though, so if you would like to help out with any donations it would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you to all who have helped out so far. I will be trying to find the best way to print out the picture. I'll aim to send out the illustrations before Christmas.

I have started working on the illustration for the reward level of my fundraiser for Indiana's Cataract Surgery Bill and on going medical costs. She is currently recovering from her surgery and can see but she is still on a lot of medication and needs to rest. If you would like to donate or even get yourself an illustration, please click here.

I'm back from my trip to Peru and it was really amazing...the real life Emperor's New Groove! The Inca Trek was pretty exhausting (because I was pretty sick on day one) but the views and rewards were awesome...so many llamas...and dogs. Dogs are everywhere in Peru. The Amazon was great too, I even got to see a sloth in the wild.
We took many photos of scenery, people & animals, which I can't wait to use as reference for a Peru sketch project. I've wanted to get back into concept artwork since the Dreamworks workshop. Now I have the subject & experienced it for myself, there is no excuses not to do it.
I'm currently free for work. So even though I'll be sending out my folio and CV to everyone and anyone I can think of for employment, please contact me if you have any paid work on offer.

I'm officially unemployed, as I have finished my contract on the Day My Butt Went Psycho and going on holiday to Peru! I have wanted to go there ever since I saw The Emperor's New Groove. So here is my last post before I go venture off to Machu Picchu. I'm hoping to do some sketchbook drawings as I go.
Here is my latest children's book page. See you when I get back!

I'll be adding more over the next few months, so if you have a specific artwork from my blog or site that you would like to purchase, let me know via my Facebook page and I can stick it up there for you to buy.
For now Im just going through all my work one by one, next up will be some Vampire related TV show and movie illustrations, some squirrels and the Yeti from my 2011 Avant card illustration.
