What's New?

Here is another page from my picture book which I did this week, I'm eager to get this done...
...and here are some photos from the Shag book signing  in Melbourne.
All so awesome...and expensive.

I'm Back

I'm back from my trip to Peru and it was really amazing...the real life Emperor's New Groove! The Inca Trek was pretty exhausting (because I was pretty sick on day one) but the views and rewards were many llamas...and dogs. Dogs are everywhere in Peru. The Amazon was great too, I even got to see a sloth in the wild.
We took many photos of scenery, people & animals, which I can't wait to use as reference for a Peru sketch project. I've wanted to get back into concept artwork since the Dreamworks workshop. Now I have the subject & experienced it for myself, there is no excuses not to do it.

I'm currently free for work. So even though I'll be sending out my folio and CV to everyone and anyone I can think of for employment, please contact me if you have any paid work on offer.

Last Post Before Peru

I'm officially unemployed, as I have finished my contract on the Day My Butt Went Psycho and going on holiday to Peru! I have wanted to go there ever since I saw The Emperor's New Groove. So here is my last post before I go venture off to Machu Picchu. I'm hoping to do some sketchbook drawings as I go.
Here is my latest children's book page. See you when I get back!

July Update

I've finally finished my first pass of storyboards for the first presentation for the ACMI / Dreamworks project. So pooped! Here are the last rough character concepts. After the  presentation, Im going to go back and do some more concepts design, seeing as time wont be spent as much on storyboards...I hope.
This is what I stare at when I occasionally look up from my screen.
Last weekend at Oz Comic Con as Wonder Woman and Ellen Ripley.

Character Concepts & Psycho Butts Stuff

Here are some rough character designs I had to do for my ACMI Dreamworks Designing Dreams project. I just had to get something down so that I had reference for my storyboards, which im currently working on. There are a few more characters than this but these are the main dudes. I'll do more character & location concept work after the first board presentation.

Some of my designs are in some promos for The Day My Butt Went Psycho. Right now it's minimal as my character designs haven't aired yet, so here is a milkshake cups, some cheerleaders & a jetski.

May Update

Ever found a plumber in your toilet?! See how this one
got stuck there this Saturday, 7.30am on GO!
This Saturday's The Day My Butt Went Psycho episode includes a character called The Plumberbutt, who I had a hand in designing. After this episode, I have more character designs popping up here and there, but this guy and a poodle named Princess are my first in the series.
I'm really excited to finally see a character Ive designed come to life on an airing animated television series.

Good work, team Studio Moshi and Nelvana!

Other good news (well not good news for my friend who had to drop out), but I got a placement in the Designing Dreams Dreamworks project with ACMI after a spot became vacant. I was next in line to be chosen as I was a finalist. So now I have to brainstorm an idea for a short film and eventually I get to pitch/discuss it with the creatives at Dreamworks. I unfortunately missed out on some of the earlier perks (free talks, lunches etc) but its all good!

Ive also started colouring my children's book and there is still some things going on with my Cartoon Network pilot.

Happy Easter!

I saw a blog post featuring those horrible vintage Easter bunny costumes with scared children and I just had to draw my favourite of the bunch...hope you all have a nice Easter and find lots of chocolate eggs.

Latest Scribbles

A long time ago, far, far away...well just a few years ago...I did a project where I did a bunch of concepts for a penguin design, just a exercise for myself. Recently for my Dreamworks workshop application, I wanted to do something new, so I thought I would just do some more designs for my Deep Sea Bleached Penguin.
Here are some drawings from the original design.

What's Going On?

I'm just about finished my scribbles for my children's book but I have been diverted for a moment as I am putting together my application for the ACMI (Australian Centre of Moving Image) Dreamwork's Designing Dreams Studio Workshop. I'm applying as a designer amongst the animators and the trickiest part is the one minute video of yourself you have to I am disappointed at my billionth take.

Here is a website store screen capture of Lights, Colours, Ninjas!
