Rogue One Trailer Fan Art Scribble

I did scribble this really quick after watching the Rogue One trailer. Can't wait!

And I also saw Zootopia the other day, FINALLY. Loved it. Two thumbs and a tail up.

Daryl and Jesus Walking Dead Fan Art

I did these over the last few weeks for fun, as a side story to the introduction of Jesus to The Walking Dead. They have been well received and quite popular. Im going to do some more when I find the time.

Vaati

This month's Character Design Challenge was a redesign of a character from Legend of Zelda. I've never played it but chose Vaati, as a New Orleans Voodoo style magician. Unfortunately I have too much on this month to prep for Supanova, so im not sure if ill get to finish him off. Here is the concept scribble I did.

Travelling Guest Speaker

In the past two weeks I have had the pleasure of talking to students of Animation and Film at two of Australia's Arts universities; Griffith University's Film School and The Victorian College of Arts (The VCA). These were similar to past talks I have done at RMIT.

It was lovely to return back to my old university in Queensland and share all the work and my stories over the past ten years since graduating from Griffith. Here I did a two hour talk and Q & A. I showed some of my pilot and talked about the progress from developing it at uni and how much it changed over the years. I wish all the best to the new students starting their journey in the BA Animation degree.
GFS cinema room...before the talk.
There are more people in here...it isnt empty!
I also had to opportunity to visit the VCA in Melbourne for the first time, a college responsible for many brilliant artists in our field, including Adam Elliot (who I managed to meet recently). I was interviewed for a couple of hours in front of students across a few areas of production, talking about my process making the Irazu CN pilot and all my experiences in my life and career. I really enjoy talking to students and sharing my tips. I look forward to returning in the future.
Posters for my talk ALL over the place.
This is officially the largest screen I have seen Irazu on.
That is a chair in the foreground.

Llama face!

Or Alpaca face? Anyway, this is a quick scribble based off a photo from my 2014 Peru trek...I really need to draw some more from that trip.

Roller Derby Girl

This month's character design challenge is Roller Derby.

Presenting The Great Wall of Chyna!
Chyna is a blocker from the derby team, The Pain Killers. A squad made up of nurses from the local hospitals, dentists & medical centres. A veteran of the team, she bears the scars on her face from one of her most oldest incidents, facial gravel burn and a blind left eye.
Usually the nurses end up seeing to their own injuries, allowing for a quicker recovery, and Chyna is eager to get back into the action after her most recent rumble.

Here are my concept sketches.

Wonder Women: 90's X-Men Rogue

Hey Bryan Singer, this is what I wanted Rogue to look like back in 2000. That's okay, I forgive you. *wink face*

Wonder Women Series: Rey

I don't really have to explain why I chose to do Rey in this series. All I will say is that I adore her and I loved The Force Awakens.

Here is the rough drawing & inked line.

Wonder Women Series: Catwoman

Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman from Batman Returns is the only Catwoman for me. The costume Tim Burton designed is just amazing and I wish we could have seen even more of Pfeiffer as Catwoman in another film...but we got Batman Forever instead.

Here is the rough drawing & inked line.

Six down...

Wonder Women Series: Michonne

One of the three characters on the Walking Dead I actually still like. The rest can just go throw themselves into a big well of bloated zombies.

Here is the rough drawing and inked line.
